Vitae Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting for our client based in Limassol, Cyprus. The Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting will be reporting to the Company’s CFO and will be responsible for the supervision of the Accounting Department and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step into a leadership role.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the Company’s Accounting Department, supervising the day-to-day accounting operations and meeting internal and external deadlines
- Supervise and manage the accounting personnel, review their work and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordination and management of the audit process for the preparation of audited financial statements for group entities in accordance with IFRS and local company’s law.
- Preparation of management accounts on a Solo and Group level, and any ad-hoc reporting required by the Company’s management.
- Review and coordination of regulatory reporting to CBC and CySEC such as COREP, ICAAP, Pillar 3, ICF, Suitability report, RBS, QST and ad hoc requests from the regulators.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including the preparation and submission of reports to tax authorities.
- Liaise with banks, PSPs, EMI and the company’s treasury function in relation to financing and other requirements in coordination with the CFO.
- Oversee the timely and correct recording of invoices, execution of payments to vendors, service providers and payroll.
- Monitor of cash flow position, recurring and critical payments and preparation of cash flow reports.
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls to ensure operational efficiency and reliable financial reporting.
Necessary requirements:
- Two years minimum experience in a CySEC regulated investment firm and previous experience in the relevant position is a must
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- A University graduate in accounting, business, finance or related field
- MS Office and working knowledge of accounting software
- Excellent knowledge of the English and Greek language, written and oral
- Initiative oriented with attention to detail
- Organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and results orientated
