Trading Platform Administrator (TPA) - Cyprus - Hybrid

Vitae Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Trading Platform Administrator (TPA) to join our client’s dynamic team in Limassol, Cyprus, to own the operation, reliability, and performance of our MetaTrader trading server environments. The platform is mission-critical and latency-sensitive, carrying live order flow, market-data distribution, and client connectivity, and is operated as a production-grade engineering service. A successful candidate will work confidently across the entire stack - from MT4/MT5 server components and plugins, through the data center and bridge topology, to the underlying networking where latency or availability demands it. This is a senior individual-contributor role carrying operational authority over the trading platform. The environment is data-dense and real-time, processing high-frequency price feeds, live positions, and continuous client sessions across geographies. Sustained uptime, deterministic order execution, and minimal network latency and jitter are baseline operating requirements rather than optimisation targets.
 

TRADING PLATFORM ADMINISTRATION
Server Operations

• Install, configure, and operate MT4/MT5 server components end to end - Trade Server, History Server, Access Server, Data Center (DC), Gateway, and Manager/Admin - across live and demo environments on prem and on cloud.
• Manage symbol and session configuration, trading hours, leverage, margin, swaps, commissions, and group/security settings with auditable change control.
• Maintain server stability and integrity: apply platform builds and updates, manage backups and archive, and safeguard trade and history data.

Plugins & Integrations

• Deploy, configure, and maintain server-side and Manager API plugins (risk, dealing, bridge, reporting, compliance), with controlled versioning and rollout.
• Integrate and operate liquidity bridges and gateways; manage FIX sessions, price/feed routing, and A-book/B-book flow configuration.
• Coordinate with engineering on custom plugin requirements, validating behaviour against production load before release.

PERFORMANCE & NETWORKING

• Datacenters & Infrastructure
• Design and operate the Data Center topology - primary and backup DCs, distributed Access Servers, and geographic placement to minimise client latency.
• Manage colocation, VPS, and server provisioning, with capacity planning and resource-utilisation monitoring.
• Implement and test backup, failover, and disaster recovery; define and validate RTO/RPO targets and restore procedures.

Networking & Connectivity

• Own low-latency networking across the platform: routing, load balancing, firewalls, DDoS protection, and secure remote access.
• Manage connectivity between data centers, bridges, liquidity providers, and client access points, optimising for latency, jitter, and resilience.
• Apply advanced command of the networking domain underpinning a real-time trading platform:
• ○ TCP/IP & UDP - connection tuning, keep-alive, congestion behaviour, and packet-loss diagnosis.
• ○ Routing & DNS - BGP/static routing awareness, failover routing, and latency-based resolution.
• ○ Firewalls & access control - security groups, ACLs, port and protocol restriction, and segmentation.
• ○ VPN / IPsec - secure site-to-site and administrative tunnels with key and certificate management.
• ○ Load balancing & failover - health checks, session persistence, and automated traffic shifting.
• ○ TLS / certificates - validation, issuance, rotation, and trust management.
• ○ Latency optimisation - colocation, peering, route selection, and continuous latency/jitter measurement

SECURITY & RELIABILITY
Security & Access

• Manage least-privilege access, Manager/Admin permissions, and credential lifecycle, with audit logging for compliance.
• Harden servers and network surfaces, manage certificates, and protect against intrusion and unauthorised access.

Monitoring & Standards

• Define and maintain monitoring, alerting, and on-call runbooks for platform, bridge, and network health.
• Enforce change-management discipline and maintain accurate, current operational documentation.

RELEASE & OPERATIONS
Change & Release

• Own platform change end to end: builds and updates of MT4/MT5 servers and plugins, staged rollout, and tested rollback.
• Plan and execute migrations - whitelabel server moves, DC relocations, and bridge or liquidity changes with minimal client impact.
• Maintain configuration baselines, environment parity, and reversible change.

Observability & Reliability

• Define and enforce observability: structured metrics and logs for servers, bridges, and network paths, correlated across the platform.
• Define, monitor, and uphold platform SLAs (availability, execution latency, connectivity) and operational performance via incident metrics (MTTR, change failure rate).

PRODUCT & DELIVERY

• Operate within an Agile delivery model - iterative planning, change scheduling, and continuous improvement of operational practices.
• Maintain a service-oriented mindset, framing platform work in terms of client experience and business outcomes, and contribute to OKRs and operational KPIs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators, and represent platform operations in cross-functional decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, dealing, and risk teams on configuration, connectivity, and incident response.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Qualifications: 
Required:

• 4+ years administering MT4 and/or MT5 trading server environments in production, with demonstrated depth across the server component architecture.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating server-side and Manager API plugins.
• Strong networking expertise: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and low-latency optimisation.
• Proven data center operations: topology design, capacity planning, backup, failover, and disaster recovery.
• Solid Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Comprehensive understanding of trading-platform operations: order flow, market-data distribution, and connectivity under load.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response in a 24/5 or 24/7 environment.
• Proven delivery within structured change-management and Agile practices, with fluency in uptime and operational measurement.

Preferred:

• Experience within fintech, brokerage, or a comparable regulated, latency-critical domain.
• Liquidity bridge experience (oneZero, PrimeXM, Centroid, B2Broker, or equivalent).
• FIX protocol configuration and troubleshooting.
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python) for routine operational tasks.
• Relevant networking or platform certifications.
